PUBERTY AND MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION PROGRAM

On 23rd February of 2024, an awareness/educational program were conducted for the students of grade 6, 7 and 10 by Psychotherapist Ms. Prerana Dahal and Youth Political Activist Ms. Ranju Darshana in New Tulips’ School.

Ms. Prerana Dahal is a certified psychotherapist at Annapurna Neurological Institute and Allied Science contributing as the occasional lecturer and speaker on reproductive and mental aspects of health. Whereas, Ms. Ranju Darshana is a youth activist and politician since a very young age of seventeen, Assigned as the central committee member and media coordinator of Bibeksheel Shajha Party.

The program was conducted with the prime purpose for educating the targeted students (esp. the teenagers) about the wide aspects of Puberty and the concept of Mental Health as well as creating awareness impact about its solutions to its concerned problems. Such educations for adolescents is an requisite for their development, providing them with information and skills to navigate the physical, emotional, and social changes that come with puberty and mentality.

  2. Reproductive Changes
  3. Emotional Changes
  4. Coping up with the Changes
  5. Importance of Mental Health
  6. Hygiene and Personal Care
  7. Friendships and Peer Pressure
  8. Good Touch and Bad Touch
  9. Masturbation
  10. Reproductive Health

The few hours long session went efficient as per its objectives. The session helped to untie the questioned knots about the reproductive and mental aspects of the students. The initiation of these two youth and energetic personalities proficient with their respective fields was much successful for bringing the positive impact to the growing and curious mind of each student.  As the program was full of informative presentations, discussions of real life cases for instance, engaging worksheets for the each student and the most importantly the interactive discussions with the students, the whole school team and the students are relieved.
