Primary Level Students' Visit To The Central Zoo
The educational visit to the Central Zoo was marked on the date 25th February, 2024. As per the plan the students from Nursery to grade 3 were assembled on the school ground of New Tulips’ School by the 9:30 am sharp. Total of 161 students and 9 school staffs has visited the destination. All the mentioned students were settled to the buses one by one, sufficient requirements like boarding pass, medical kits, food and beverages were packed to reach the destination.
Talking about the destination, Central Zoo is located at Jawalakhel in the Kathmandu Valley, established on 1932 by the late Rana Prime Minister Juddha Samsher, and entrusted to Government of Nepal. The Central Zoo is a center for ex-situ wildlife research and conservation education. The Central Zoo, with an area of about 6 hectare provides shelter to a total of 942 individual mammal, bird, fish and reptile of 127 species. It also serves as recreational center for the visitors. Central Zoo uniquely serves as a historical cultural site for diverse groups of people.
The visit to the zoo was highly beneficial for each student, offering a range of educational, emotional and social advantages. The day remarked the annual excursion of the students with the learning of creatures physically, Biodiversity awareness and conservation education. The visit helped the students for connecting with the nature and stimulating their imagination and curiosity on real grounds.
The educational visit to the Central Zoo well and as planned with the joint efforts of the school staffs for the excursion. All the students were shuttled timely. The excursion has been an enriching experience for students, contributing their education, emotional development, and fostering a sense of responsibility towards the natural world.
