Educational Visit To Jarsing Pauwa

As quoted by the great philosopher Saint Augustine, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page”. This emphasize us the importance of travelling that plays the significant role in education, offering unique and valuable learning experiences that go beyond the confines of traditional classroom settings. So on the date 2nd March of 2024, New Tulips’ School proceeded for an educational visit to Jarsing Pauwa, Shankharapur Municipality on the outskirt of Kathmandu, a place known for the green lush environments, picnic spots tea garden, has lots to offer for the visitors.

 Total of 189 students from grade 4 to 9, the school staffs and the school committee members participated for the event. All the students were informed to arrive inside the school premises at 6:45 am wearing their proper track suit and school Identity Card. The students were made of several groups of 10 students each and a group leader so to make the handling of students more comprehensive. Around 7:30 am all the members and the requisites were board on the four different Buses and headed for the destination. Reaching around 9:30 am at the picnic spot, the breakfast was ready. After having breakfast and a cup of coffee the students involved themselves in various creative activities like observing the surroundings, playing, dancing, singing and many outdoor activities. Then a short hike to the Ganeshman Singh Smriti Memorial Park was headed walking around steep narrow woods and wide dusty road sometimes. The students wondered looking around the scenes and the natural places noting down every minute detail in their note-copy for the purpose of preparing their report. The lunch time begun shortly after returning from the short hike, and the Musical Chair game was played to raise the bar of excitement. The winners 1st, 2nd and 3rd were awarded with the cash prizes. Around 4 pm, the ending dinner and the desert were ready to be served. Then the school staffs checked and managed their students as per their class and group to return safely.

The day has been full of holistic learning as well as exciting experience allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world contexts and fostering personal and academic growth. It has promoted the teamwork, physical fitness, and bonding amongst the school members and students. These types of educational excursions aim to supplement classroom learning with practical experiences that enrich students’ understanding of the world around them.
